He did a good job with the first 2 Harry Potter film adaptions but I will never forgive him for what he did with another film adaption of a series I love.
Given how long Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was as a book, and that such an adaptation solicited the releases of Part 1 in 2010 and Part 2 in 2011, something tells me that given how long Harry Potter and the Cursed Child likewise is as both a play and a script book, such an adaptation should also be split in half. With Chris Columbus having expressed his interest in adapting it, I just hope that it happens. Given these factors, do any of you guys think that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Part One and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Part Two is a good idea, or what are your thoughts on it?
I for one think it would be very interesting to see the play and its script book adapted for the big silver screen. Given that the play is split into two parts, I for one can just imagine it being a two-part film version if so. However, with all four composers that the Potter films have had throughout their ten years of production (i.e., John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat), trying to think of who they might or should choose to compose the score for such a possible film version is really difficult. John Williams masterfully laid down the foundation in his scores for the first three; but Patrick Doyle then gave its sound a much grittier and more realistic tone with stronger English musical sensibilities and themes of his own in the fourth -- then Nicholas Hooper gave it a much flightier feel and motifs of his own in the fifth and sixth, while Alexandre Desplat ultimately gave it a much darker sound with some minor adaptations of themes and motifs from the past scores accompanied by his own mannerisms for these characters and concepts. If they had to ask one or any of the previous composers to return, I'd love to hear a return from either John Williams, Patrick Doyle, or Alexandre Desplat, or perhaps a collaboration between two of the three. But if they had to hire someone new, I'd hope to hear David Arnold, the best composer in the 007 franchise since John Barry, as he proved his own fantasy writing chops in his score for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, score it; and I'd hope that the score that he'd create would be one that combines all the sounds, styles, themes, and motifs that Williams, Doyle, Hooper, and Desplat respectively created into each other, as if they were one and exactly the same, creating the best and most comprehensive and detailed score in the series since John Williams' scores. But what about you witches and wizards? What do you guys and gals think of this?
That the director of Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone and the Chamber of Secrets, Chris Columbus, also directed the Percy Jackson movies-
Happy Birthday to Director Chris Columbus, from the first two movies 🎉🎊🎈
