Okay, so I saw this theory that doesn't really work, but it doesn't not work either. The theory is that, in The Chamber of Secrets, the page that Draco rips out of the book here:

Was the same page that Hermione has in her hand here:

The one that literally tells them what's happening. I really liked this theroy, because it means that Draco helped. I mean, Lucius wasn't very secretive about Voldemort's plan, so Draco probably knew about it and he might've tried to help.

Which would explain a part at the end where, after Hermione is unpetrified, she tells Ron and Harry: "I can't believe you did it!" Either she was being extremely rude, because the paper literally had the answers on it, or she didn't know about the paper. (She also could've been happy that they didn't die, which is entirely possible.) But, what if Draco found her, petrified, and put the paper he had previously ripped out of a book in her petrified hand. And then told the nurses, I mean, they never say how they found out she was petrified unless they just found her. (Which is also totally possible.) Think about it though, why would Hermione, lover of books, go to a library and tear a page out of a book?!? It doesn't fit her character at all.

This part isn't as awsome because, we do know Voldemort hated muggle born wizards but still, I thought of this part:

And, as bad as that sounds, he could've been warning them. The next person to get petrified, Colin Creevey, this adorable soul:

Was muggle born. And then, Justin Finch-Fletchley:

Also muggle born. Penelope Clearwater also got petrified, and her blood status is either muggle born or half blood, it was never specified. Again I know it was well known that Voldemort hated muggle born wizards, but still. Draco wasn't wrong.
