Personally I dont think its necessary, the movies already did a good job so we dont really need a TV series. Also the new cast will be hard to get used to, the og cast is so iconic...

And if they want to make it stand out more from the movies they probably need to make it as different as possible and more faithful to the books. (Which they already kinda failed in the announcement with the same logo, music score and hogwarts design)

I think the only reason theyre doing this is because it's their moneymaker so they are milking it (even though they have 7 movies, a play, 8 books, fantastic beasts series, merchandise and products etc..)
