Hard take, but I'll have to go with Slughorn. Even though I probably wouldn't end up in the Slug Club, I would probably enjoy his classes more than Snape's.

“Slytherin!” The hat said, the ecstatic boy barely able to control his excitement, for most of his childhood, he was enthralled by street magicians and circuses, tho primarily magicians as he always wanted to become one when he grew up, he always wanted to believe magic was real even if others thought otherwise, but now? He could actually experience it all to himself. He realized he had stayed in the same spot for too long however, and gleefully skipped off. Thoughts of his new future ran through his head, and the idea of meeting new and fun wizarding friends excited him further. Tho, the surprise and in some others eyes, disgust made him feel slightly nervous. Suddenly, a peculiar, fluffy dark blue haired woman in what almost looked like military garb came up to him. She was one of the surprised people as well, he was excited to talk to her as he thought she looked cool.
”Great that we uhh.. got a- muggle in slytherin.. not the most common thing ey? You should feel special, oh and, you looked real excited there, so I wanted to introduce you to your professor, isn’t he charming?” As she said that, behind her she pulled out an image. A photo seemingly of a man with a less then appealing nose, ominous black robes, and an intimidating, slightly angry or disappointed look in his face. As he stared upon the photo, his excitement started to wear off, as watery tears welled up in eyes, glistening from the light on the chandeliers. Sobbing on the spot.
”Ohh uhm, that’s an ugly noise my dear darling- lad fellow student. Here, why don’t you cease that b***** crying?” She said in an attempt to comfort him. He only cried harder. “that usually works for younger students. Actually, here, why don’t I take you to honeydukes? Children like sweets right?” Patting the boy who’s only started to stop crying on the head. “Would that distract you from your probably permanent professor?” In response, the boy sniffled and nodded silently. He dreaded the very idea of learning with that man. His loud crying had caught the eyes of the other students and the professors. It was quite distracting.
Taking the boys hand, they simply walked out. The distracting crying had to be stopped some way, at least it worked.

Hey! I'm writing a fan fiction on the Marauder's Era, and was wondering what Professors were around then. I think I have most of them figured out, but still am not sure on the Charms Professor, who I need in order to complete my next chapter. If anybody knew then please, please, please reply! Oh, and if anybody wants to comment all the Professors that great to so that I can double check, thanks!

I dislike how most teachers are described/displayed. To me most of them are kinda flat, two-dimensional, without depth.
Some are so extremely stereotypical that it's almost cartoon or slapstick.
Example 1: Professor Flitwick
We all like the funny little teacher. But it's hard to take him seriously.
I wish he had more of his deeper, more earnest moments.
Example 2: Professor Trelawny
Just too much! Slightly eccentric woul have been better. Or, since Divination is not taken seriously anyway with most of her colleagues I'd have preferred her to be, say, very strict or tough, kinda scientific about it.
And leave the eccentric for another teacher with a drier subject.
Hello, is anybody interested in teaching Hogwarts subjects? All of the core subjects are available at the moment, except for DADA. If you are interested, please message me for more details!
