Unicorn hair

Luna's wand characteristics are not specified in canon, so here is what i think it could be.

Wood: Pine.

The straight-grained pine wand always chose an independent, individual master who might be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoyed being used creatively, and unlike some others, would adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells.

That sounds like Luna to me.

The pine wand was one of those that was most sensitive to non-verbal magic.

Now we have seen Luna perform non-verbal magic, but i still think Pine is suitable for her.

Core: Unicorn hair. This core produces the most consistent magic, but may not be as powerful at times as dragon or phoenix wands. We don't really see Luna fail her spells. Also unicorn is hardest to turn to dark arts. It's hard to imagine Luna practicing dark magic.

Length: 11¾ inches. Longer wands can mean a more dramatic style of magic or a grander personality. Luna is unique, but also not without her faults.

Flexibility: Surprisingly Swishy. I don't exactly know what this means, but i felt like this makes sense for Luna.

Arthur Weasley's wand characteristics are unknown in canon, so i have a theory what they could be.

Wood: Hornbeam.

Hornbeam selected for its life mate the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession - more kindly - vision, which would almost always be realised. Hornbeam wands adapted more quickly than almost any other to their owner's style of magic, and would become so personalised, so quickly, that other people would find them extremely difficult to use even for the most simple of spells.

Arthur is very devoted to his hobby and work with muggle objects, which you could call an obsession. And he has shown great proficiency with many spells, which means he does not lack talent. This wand wood suits Arthur perfectly.

Core: Unicorn hair. This core produces most consistent magic, just like we see Arthur in the series. He can cast a patronus and fix glasses without a problem. It is also hardest to turn to dark arts, and Arthur would not allow that to happen.

Length: 11½ inches. Longer wands can indicate a bigger personality and also a more dramatic style of magic. Arthur was definitely not lacking in character, so i imagine wand length somewhere in middle would be good.

Flexibility: Swishy. This flexibility just sounds like it would suit Arthur. He is pleasant and curious.

Horace Slughorn stated that unicorn hairs cost 10 galleons each and Ollivanders sells wands in general for 8 galleons each. Unicorn hair is a very common wand core.

This could be a continuity error but I don't know. I saw a whole YouTube short about this.

I’m a Hufflepuff! My patronus is a dolphin. Lastish but not leastish, my wand is a 12 1/4” alder wood wand with a unicorn hair core, and it has “surprising swishy flexibility.” Idk if this is a thing or not, but if it is, my Harry Potter world name would be Lorelei Day.

They both

• Outside made of wood

• Inside made of "hair" and "feather"

• Some about a foot long

• Talented people wield it

• Some colorful stuff come out of it if you wave it dramatically (Spells and paint)
