so i was thinking about gof, specifically the book and like.. are the veela kind of weird to anyone else? not sure on what the the limits are when it comes to criticism and calling out questionable writing but i've never heard anyone talk about how stereotypical the veela are, just look into what they are and it might come to you

I’ll start. I’m thankful for all you guys in the HP wiki!! And Veelas. All of the Veelas.

Ok, I don't even know why I'm posting this as an entire post instead of just bringing it up in an OT discussion, but this thought crossed my mind: sure, some magical creatures have claws and tails and teeth and eyes that kill, but Veela could still possibly be the most powerful. How? You may ask, and well that's because of their beauty. Veela entrance and manipulate anyone they see who is attracted to whatever gender they are. Harry Potter considered performing something really stupid when faced by Veela, Ron became a total simp for Fleur because of her looks, ignoring the fact she was a low-key snob, and Fleur herself is described on this very wiki as thinking she's better than others because of her beauty. Now, because their beauty makes such an impression on people, could it be possible Veela could convince people to do something for them? Maybe even kill? Well, probably. If someone wants to do stupid stuff just looking at a Veela, who's to say they can't manipulate someone into doing something really bad and they would listen bc bEauTiFuL? And also why is nobody talking about the fact that full-blooded Veela can literally throw fireballs and turn into harpy-lookin things..

Sorry if this has already answered, but I found a similar question in the HP subreddit and went to check the Wiki page on Veelas but couldn't find an answer.

I know that the 1/8th Veela Louis Delacour was male, but that could have been because of being mostly human.

There also is this line in the Behind The Scenes section of the Veela page that doesn't have a note or reference "One of the questions on the 2nd Level W.O.M.B.A.T. asks the examinee to identify which of five given statements is false; one of these claims that full-blooded male full Veela do not exist." But this line about the statements doesn't say if that is one of the true facts or not, at least not to my knowledge, so it could be the lie.

In my opinion that leaves two possibilities for how full Veela breed:

A. There are male full Veelas but we just haven't seen any in canon yet.

B. Full Veelas are some kind of hermaphrodites, they each have male and female reproductive capabilities, and that breed with each other. This would mean that not only can human males mate with a full Veela, but also human females.

Anyway, that's just my thoughts, its probably A, but it'd be cool if it was B.

I’m rewatching my favorite Harry Potter movie (which is also my favorite book) the Goblet of Fire and I love the Veela species and I wanna know why the were omitted. Also don’t know where this goes but I think Canon Q&A

I wonder if Veelas are considered purebloods. I am pretty sure veela is a species. So does it make a person with the veela lineage from the mum's side, and pureblood wizard from dad's a pureblooded half/quarter Veela? (please note I am very stupid)

Many Fanfiction titles state (Mostly Draco x Harry) that Draco Is a Veela

BUT! If I go onto his Species it says he is a Human part ferret?

So I’m making a team of hp characters and I’ve only made one but I almost have them finished. I have Markus Blackwell who is a slytherin and is a half blood. He is a metamorphogus. Then there is a veela who is a ravenclaw. Then there is a werewolf who is in Hufflepuff. And I’m planning on making a half vampire who is in griffyndor. All of the ones except for Markus are not completed yet. That’s why I didn’t call them by their name.

So, I was just roleplaying when a user said that male veelas can't exist veelas can only have female children. Is this true??

I have never seen a part Veela male.

Or is this not even a thing?
