Veritaserum

Ok, so I don't usually post on these sites, just stalk, but I was rewatching POA today and I had a question. Does anyone know if there is a reason Veritaserum can't be used on people on trial? Like, imagine how differently things could have gone if someone has given Sirius some truth serum and asked him if he's guilty. Or asked Harry if he heard Peter admit it was him?

Now obviously, the story needed to go this way for the plot and all, but I was just wondering if this had every been addressed or anything?

The ministry has all these methods of finding out the truth, yet they don't use any of them on Harry at the trial. when they're persecuting Harry, they don't use veritaserum or Occlumency or any spell that could force him to tell the truth. What's the deal? There are people still unsure that what Harry is saying is true? Ok, just use the Pensive and we can all literally see what he saw.

There were so many ways to solve that stupid trial in the beginning. I'm sure Harry would have been ok with either of those methods to prevent being expelled from school. It's not like those methods hurt or anything.

Honestly, there are some plotholes in the Harry Potter series that I have seen but this is the one that exasperates me the most.

WHY DO THEY NOT USE VERITASERUM AT TRIALS FOR WIZARDS!!!

If they had used Veritaserum at the trial for per se, Sirius Black, then he wouldn't have had to go to Azkaban for 13 years!

I need an answer to this.

1. Why didn't Dumbledore think up a plan to use Veritaserum to prove Sirius's innocence? Like make him drink it and tell everyone that Wormtail escaped, or use it on Death Eaters in Azkaban to prove that Wormtail worked for Voldemort?

2. Also why didn't they use Veritaserum to prove that Lucius, Macnair, Avery, Nott, Crabbe, Goyle, Selwyn, Greyback, Yaxley and the Carrows willingly served Voldemort during the First Wizarding War??? That would definitely make them end up in Azkaban.

3. Could Dumbledore have used his wand to pull out the memory of Voldemort getting revived from Harry's head and prove to the entire world that Voldemort has returned?

4. Since Harry thought Severus was supporting Draco's evil plan in book 6, why not ask Severus to drink Veritaserum and tell his loyalty to Harry so that Harry won't suspect him?

Please tell me, has everyone in the Wizarding World forgotten the existence of Veritaserum????

For example, during Goblet of Fire, Snape, as the Potions teacher, could have easily procured Veritaserum to verify Harry's claims of not putting his name in the cup

Again, Sirius could be free rn if someone had Veritaserum-ed Harry, Hermione, Ron, Lupin and Sirius himself in a trial.

I mean, it does take a month to brew, but it is implied Snape keeps a stock of it!!!!!!!!!!

SO MANY problems can be solved w/ Veritaserum but nobody thinks of it!!!!!!

So people often ask why Sirius Black wasn't just given Veritaserum and asked if he was guilty when he was arrested for the death of all those Muggles and accused of being a Death Eater who sold out Lily and James Potter.

They both seem fake. If they interogated barty crouch jr with veritaserum, why won't they use it on harry? And liquid luck, why does NO ONE except slughorn make it, i mean????? Oh! And snape will probably have the ingredients to make and use it, (proof in OoTP when he gave umbridge) why not use it on the death eaters like lucius malfoy and liquid luck, why didn't every one use it so that no one dies. And snape is a POTIONS MASTER why doesn't he have more ingredients to make it????
