PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IDEA ONLY WORKS IN THE FILM ADAPTATION OF HARRY POTTER
So... Lord Voldemort was obsessed with getting the Elder Wand because he couldn't fatally wound Harry Potter with his own wand, due to their Twin Cores. However, Harry's wand was destroyed in his and Hermoine Granger's fight with Nagini, where Hermoine casts The Blasting Curse at Nagini. Afterwards, when they are captured by Snatchers and taken to Malfoy Manor, Harry gets a hold of Draco Malfoy's wand, and takes it to Garrick Ollivander. Mr. Ollivander says that Draco's wand has changed alligence, and it is now Harry's wand, if he wishes it to be. Harry continues to use this wand, even during the Battle of Hogwarts. Therefore, Voldemort never needed the Elder Wand, and could have probably won the duel between him and Harry, if he had used the Yew and Phoenix Feather wand that chose him, because Harry didn't have his own wand, and Voldemort would have no problems with Priori Incantatem, or inficting fatal wounds on him. We all know the famous prophecy that Professor Trelawney gave to Dumbledore back in 1980, the one that essentially sealed Harry’s fate. If you did not spend your childhood memorizing all of the prophecies like I may or may not have most certainly done, let me refresh your memory: Professor Trelawney claims that “either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives” (OotP 191).
In the novels, Harry and Dumbledore focus on this idea. Both believe that the two powerful wizards cannot concurrently live in the same world. As a result, one must kill the other. Certainly, this is true since Voldemort needed to be the one to “kill” Harry to destroy the Horcrux within him, but what if this were the only way Harry could die?
Crazy, I know. When I first heard it, I had to stop and think, but then I remembered that this is J.K. Rowling we’re dealing with here; she is the queen of riddles and misdirection. [Even if we hate her] In fact, she has already proven once that the prophecy could have been interpreted differently and still have been correct. Both Neville Longbottom’s and Harry’s parents had defied He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named three times, and both boys were born at the end of July. The only difference was that Voldemort chose to go after Harry, marking him “as his equal” (OotP 191). The crux of the fan theory lies in the line “either must die at the hand of the other” (OotP 191), suggesting that it does not just mean that the other must be the one to administer the fatal blow, but that it is the only way either wizard can die.

I don't understand why Voldemort (yes I say his name ) waits until the end of the school year like I get that Rowling wants to have a dramatic ending but logically you would do it at the start of year becuse harry would be young and won't know all of the spells to fight him, comment if you agree
When Voldemort's spell had rebounded in the last battle with Harry , in the books he had been killed and his body lay there in the great hall apart from the bodies of Remus, Tonks, Fred and others.
But in the movies he had just vanished . It seemed a bit unrealistic as the killing curse just kills not destroys your body.
But it gave a very good effect in the movie as it had a bit different ending. When Voldemort was killed I was like " OMG , everything has ended. "
But what do you think , does Voldemort's vanishing body was a good effect or it was better in the books??
