Real witches/wizards in HP

So as we know some witches and wizards from real world lore have been included into the wizarding world either through the books or through other media. One wizard I would love to see show up is Abe no Seimei who is both a legendary and historical figure in Japan. I would love to see him added into the HP world, especially if JK ever adds more info on the Japanese school. I can see him fitting in well with the series.

Which legendary magic user would you guys like to see put into the series cannon?

Was Leta Suicidal?

<p>So something I have been wondering since COG came out was Leta's death.</p><p>
</p><p>I always assumed due to her pedigree and by statements made by Queenie to Newt during their talk in FB that Leta was going to be shallow, selfish and vain.</p><p>
</p><p>But Leta as it turns out was one of the breakout stars of the movie, her vulnerability and humanity struck a cord in the hearts of even the most cynical of HP fans. Her regrets and love for both Newt and Thaddeus made her one of the few Slytherin characters that show coming from that house doesn't mean you are a bad person.</p><p>
</p><p>Yet as she sacrificed herself I had to wonder why? It was obvious she couldn't stand a chance against Grindelwald, she had to know this as well. And as I thought more about it I had to think maybe she wanted to die. Perhaps she suffered from a greater degree of depression than anyone knew.</p><p>
</p><p>Think about it. Her mother was forced to have her, Leta's father used his magic to steal her from her family because of her pureblood status and sired Leta and died when Leta was born. She grew up in a family where men are treasured and women don't even get their names put on the family tree. Than she believes she murdered her baby brother and was bullied at Hogwarts. She even believes herself to be a monster as she stated to Newt. "You never met a monster you didn't love."</p><p>
</p><p>Of course to the more cynical fans Leta's death is just a trope used for women of color. But did Leta actually suffer from a depression son deep it drove her to end her life?</p>

<p>As long as they are just altering g her age that is fine. They could be planning to use her to have Dumbledore talk more about his past with Grindelwald.</p>

<p>I think they would be interesting because they would be one of the few creatures Newt wasn't able to befriend since they are so aggressive and eat people. Plus with the Patronus charm being the only thing able to stop it, it would make it a very dangerous creature.</p>

<p>That sounds cool. But I meant to say the feathered dragon seen in Mesoamerican lore. I know it is a different culture but I would love to see the colors used to make such a creature...though the Boitata sounds cool to.</p>

<p>The Caiporas were mentioned as guarding the school down there. They might be in it as comedic relief like the Niffler. Also would be cool if they showed the feathered serpent</p>

<p>I don't know, that seems a little too aggressive for Newt's personality. I think something gentle, yet also reflects his love for nature.</p>

<p>JK did say in an interview Newt does have a Patronus but she couldn't say what as it would spoil future movies.</p>

Possible Beast in FB3

<p>So there is a possibility we might see Rio in the next FB film. If this is true I am hoping we see one of the most sinister creatures in the HP universe. The Lethifold. I want this creature for two reasons. One because it is like a murderous blanket of shadow. I highly doubt even Newt could befriend this creature, since they prefer tropical regions one might find its way to Rio. Second, the only known way to repel one is with the Patronus charm just like with a dementor. This would be a great way to see a classic spell and would be awesome to see what Newt's Patronus is.</p>

<p>But we have three more movies to go, more than enough time for her to explain, reveal and potentially fix things. </p><p>
</p><p>For now I am looking forward to listening to other fans theorize and see if we get anything right and what might remain an issue. That is part of the fun</p>

<p>The laws allowing students to attend certain schools might be a bit more flexible than the ones that govern muggle children. Plus it's not like travel is an issue when using portkeys, or flo powder</p>

<p>Her dad didn't love her, maybe he wanted her at Hogwarts to keep her as far away as he could. Maybe he felt like Hogwarts is a better school. </p><p>
</p><p>Draco said in the 4th book I believe that his dad considered sending him to Drumstrun to learn. </p>

<p>Well isn't that part of the fun of being in a fandom? Coming together to theorize and guess what will happen next? There are so many theories about the next movie and what we learned in this movie. What is truth, what are lies, how they all play out. Why must we get angry? Is it so bad to wait? FB has an anticipation we didn't get from hp because we read the books so we knew what was going to happen.</p><p>
</p><p>Nagini, Credance, Queenie, and their storyline as well as the events leading to the final fight.</p><p>
</p><p>There is.nothjng wrong with Minerva being in the film it doesn't affect the cannon of the books and if it is a retacon oh well.</p><p>
</p><p>Having her in the films makes me hope they include the scene with her and albus talking about their love lives. It shows a. Vulnerable side to them and would be beautiful to see them bond as friends.</p>

<p>With Minerva it doesn't bother me. Wouldn't be the first time a book series has made a retacon or cannon error. So they altered her age. Maybe they are planning to have that scene between her and Dumbledore where they talk about their love lives.</p><p>
</p><p>With Credance I am more than willing to bet Grindelwald is lying. Since he thinks only Crddance has the power to kill Albus it makes sense he would use lies to manipulate him. Hes done it before. He already lied and said Dumbledore wants Credance dead.</p><p>
</p><p>But I am willing to believe he could be related. Either as a new bit of cannon or he could be his cousin through Dumbledores aunt.</p>

<p>Yes but Newts main job is to travel the world and study magical creatures and the Grindelwald thing ties into it. I. I just think it would be a great way to add one of the schools into the movies and take Newt to a new location.</p>
