Hello my fellow Potterheads!
Can someone explain to me why did Dumbledore:
•kept the Elder Wand after defeating Grindelwald in 1945? Tom Marvolo Riddle didn't know about that Wand until 1997 when he found out about it from Ollivander, Riddle Jr wasn't even Lord Voldemort back then so the excuse “to have a weapon that could kill Voldemort” cannot be actually used.
•had accepted the following positions: being the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot? Dumbledore claimed he liked teaching and as a Headmaster he didn't really teach students (except Harry Potter). Speaking about the Supreme Mugwump and Chief Warlock positions he claimed he never wanted to have any political power after his toxic friendship with Grindelwald, that's the official reason Dumbledore never became a British Minister for Magic.
Is the answer that Dumbledore was actually a power-hungry and ambitious person who pretended to be just a good and kind-hearted teacher?
(If I made any mistakes please forgive me English isn't my native language)
