<p>The author said Harry and Ginny are soulmates a few times out of the books, but those feelings were definitly described in the 6th book: There are mentions (or allusions) of Harry's feelings for Ginny in chapters 7, 14, 15, 19, 20, 25 and 30. The first page of the 25th chapter literally says that dating Ginny made him happier than he ever has been in his life, and it's not like it's not written (5th chapter) that Hermione (and Ron) made him feel good stuff too, it's just not the same.</p>

</p><p>I'm not defending this pairing (I don't like it in fact) but Harry (in the books) was on a little cloud of happiness when he was dating Ginny. I may not like Ginny (and I think it has a lot to do with her portrayal in the films) but Hermione never made Harry feel the way he felt (in the books) about Ginny.</p>

<p>l believe that, since JKR saw a lot of herself in Hermione and has a weak spot for funy men, she must have fulfilled a personal fantasy. Maybe Ron represented an old love interest JKR had as a girl, and wanted Hermione to have this particular happy-ever-after-ending.</p><p>
</p><p>There is in fact an interview in which JKR said things which led to believe she changed her mind about Ron and Hermione, but that's taking quotes out of the whole interview. She did not point-blank state that Hermione should have married Harry instead of Ron, for example. But she did say a marriage between Harry and Hermione would have worked better (and also that Ron and Hermione would be fine with couple counselling)</p><p>
</p><p>However, JKR also said that Harry and Ginny are SOULMATES, so even if Hermione had doubts about her mariage with Ron, there is no chance for her and Harry to be in a comparable relationship.</p><p>

<p>I'm more inclined to believe she grew up under the name of Delphini Rowle, if not Delphini Lestrange.</p>

</p><p>If the whole story bothers you, consider you don't have to see it as canon at all : let's just take things from the in-universe perspective; the in-universe author (JKR) wrote all her in-universe books on Harry Potter's life after events happened, so it made some kind of sense. However, this script tells a story that hasn't happened yet in-universe. See where I'm going there, those muggles invented everything!!!</p>

<p>If Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was an adaptation of some other materials, we could consider it like the adaptations of the Harry Potter books. However, the book called Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them has little to do with the FB films: it's just the name of a school textbook, and the films are telling something else. They are their own source material. There's nothing else (as in a novel or a play) to say it is just another adaptation (aside from the script itself)</p><p>I understand why people get mad when one new element of the HP verse makes no sense, when it creates contradictions. It's a crack in the construction of the Harry Potter lore. Minerva's background is tied with the lives of other characters (see her career path for example) and the fact that her father was a muggle (which makes her the first witch of her name) has its importance in her life choices. Some details can't be changed without changing all of their consequences. I don't know what JKR is aiming for with this, And it's not the first time that Minerva McGongall's background is changed. I'm disturbed and deeply annoyed, but I'll wait to see the next films before judging her.</p>

<p>I won't give any credit to what Gellert Grindelwald said about Credence's ancestry.</p><p>
</p><p>A few months before, Grindelwald was looking for an Obscurial and thought it would be a child. If he had really been on Credence's track he would have known he was looking for a young man and not someone the age of Modesty.</p><p>

</p><p>I bet Gellert Grindelwald is subject to the same magical restraint Dumbledore is, and neither of them can attack the other. Chosing an obscurial to do the dirty job was a low blow considering Ariana's fate.</p><p>

<p>The boggart could turn into Tom Riddle's diary... and that would still count as fearing Voldemort, so that's a plus if you want to acknowledge the information provided by the LEGO HP game as (sort of) canon.</p>

<p>The most plausible answer to me would be Rowena Ravenclaw, who created the castle's moving staircases; I like to think she also created the Room of Requirement.</p><p>
</p><p>Or that she may have helped to create it. I don't know if she was the type of person who would have got the idea to create it in the first place.</p>
