"This is so cool," Macy breathed as she stared up at the Ilvermorny school. A worried expression suddenly appeared on her face. "How do you think we're going to get sorted?" She asked anxiously, glancing at Blake and I.

"I've heard there's a test from my older brother." He scowled. "But he's a liar, so I doubt it."

"What do you think, Aria?" Macy looked past Blake and at me.

I shrugged, my stomach twisting nervously. "I'm not sure," I confessed. "I haven't given it much thought..."

"First years! Hey, you're first years, aren't you?" A cheerful voice said in front of us.

And, with a grin on her face, a green dragon was standing on her hind legs, a clipboard in her hand and glasses perched on her nose. Her claws were painted red and smoke curled from her nostrils.

"What." Was the only intelligent thing I could say as I stared at the dragon.

"Oh, don't be frightened!" The dragon continued cheerfully. "I'm friendly with first years. But for older students..." she snorted, and sparks flew from her nostrils.

"Y-yeah, were first years." I stammered.

"Names, please?" The dragon chirped, looking down at her clipboard as she fingered a quill in her red-painted talons.

"I'm Aria," I said. "Aria Alistair."

"Aria...Aria..." the dragon muttered before brightened and checking something off on her clipboard. "Aha! Checked you in, Aria!" She lowered her voice and spoke to me. "We started with the checking in process after we heard that a student by the name of Harry Potter was almost sent back on the train one year!"

"Somebody found him, right?" Macy gasped.

"Oh, yes." The dragon smiled. "Now, names? Continue on, Aria, to my brother. He's taking the first years to the school." She turned to Blake and Macy as I turned, searching for another dragon.

Sure enough,another huge - this time blue - dragon was waiting patiently for the first years. He waved to me and I sidled into the line. "You and those two are the last ones!" He said gruffly, and I stayed silent as Blake and Macy appeared beside me.

"Now, let's head to the school!" The female dragon appeared, her tail twitching. And without another word the two dragons turned and led me towards my fate.

Hi guys. I'm really loving the support you're putting on my fanfic of Aria, so I was thinking...

Since we've never really heard a lot about Ilvermorny, I was thinking that maybe you guys could tell me what you think students of Ilvermorny do, or other things like that!

So, first question....

Should Ilvermorny forests have the same creatures as Hogwarts, or should there be new types of creatures in America? If you want new creatures, please reply what creature you want me to add and I will do my best to contribute it into Arias story.

I didn't realize we were almost at the school until the apparent leader of the carriages called out quite loudly, "Ilvermorny School - approaching fast!"

My head jerked up, and I must've been sleeping because my eyes opened to see the others blinking the sleep from their eyes and craning their heads outside the window to see if they could spot Ilvermorny.

"I'm so nervous," Macy fretted.

"About what?" Blake laughed. "There's nothing to be worried about." I glanced at Xavier - the boy had his eyes closed.

"Who's going to wake him up?" I asked, glancing at Blake and Macy. They both leaned away and I sighed. "I'll just do it, then."

I leaned over to Xavier and tapped him briskly on the shoulder. Xavier moaned groggily and shifted away from me.

"Hey, wake up." I said. "We're here."

At my words Xavier jerked his head and blinked. I tried not to flinch at his starling silver eyes and he gave me a smile.

"Thanks for waking me, Aria." He said warmly. "I probably wouldn't have woken up on my own."

"Yeah...no problem..." I said shifting back in my sear. 'I probably shouldn't have woken him,' I thought bitterly as Xavier turned his silver gaze on me. Blake noticed and he scowled at Xavier.

"Got anything better to look at?" He snapped at Xavier, and Xavier tore his gaze away from me.

"Of course," he said, flushed before turning to look out the window.

I glanced at Blake gratefully, and he nodded stiffly in return as the carriages slowed to a halt in front of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"It's huge," Macy breathed in awe, staring up at the huge gates that blocked the school off from unwanted visitors.

"It's beautiful," I gassed as I stared at all the creatures around us, darting among the trees, in and out of view. "I never realized that the forest was this beautiful!"

"Yes." Xavier agreed and Blake shot him a nasty glare.

I punched Blake in the shoulder and he yelled, frowning at me.

"Can you at least try and be nice?" I hissed in Blake's ear. "I mean, come on, he's a first year just like us!"

"I just don't like how he always stares at you," Blake grouched. "It's...creepy."

I followed his gaze to where Xavier was intently watching him and I again. Anger boiled up inside me as the carriage doors swung open.

"Knock it off and stop being a creep!" I snapped, brushing past Xavier's shoulder. "Come on Blake, Macy." The walked by my side as we paused to admire the huge school that loomed before us. " We have to be sorted!"

"I'll write to you every week," my Mother promised me, giving me a quick hug before pushing me towards the carriage nearest to me. Two students were already sitting in the carriage and there two empty seats left.

"See you soon, Mom," I promised before turning and hopping into the carriage. The door swung shut behind me and then, in unison, the carriages set off and down the roads. For some reason, it seemed we were only going as fast as a horse could trot, but the town was whipping by me until suddenly we were in the forest, still going the continuous slow speed. I turned to the girl sitting next to me, she was watching me with interest.

"Why carriages?" I asked, staring at the girl.

"I thought it would've been obvious," she replied with a grin, jerking her head towards a boy sitting across from us. "Want to tell her, Blake?" She asked the black-haired boy and he nodded, smiling at me.

"Well, you see, since Ilvermorny is in the middle of a forest it's hard to see by flying on a broomstick or riding on a train - like those Hogwarts students." His nose scrunched and he shook his head. "Anyways, it's easier to navigate the trails by carriage." He paused. "I'm Blake," he said. "Who are you?"

"Aria," I replied, relieved that Blake had asked the question first. "Aria Alistair." We shook hands and then I turned to the girl sitting next to me. "What's your name?" I asked.

"Macy," the dark-skinned girl said almost shyly. "Nice to meet you, Aria." She turned to the empty seat next to Blake. "Wonder who's going to join our carriage." She said.

"I dunno," Blake shrugged. "I hope he isn't a troublemaker." He grinned sheepishly as Macy rolled her eyes and smiled with amusement.

"How do you know it's a he?" I piped up and Blake grinned at me.

"I'm great at telling the future," he said spookily and I rolled my eyes as he laughed.

And suddenly all the carriages stopped.

The door to our carriage swung open, and a young boy - an 11 year old first year, like Blake, Macy, and I - hopped into our carriage.

There was a smile on his face, but I could sense no happiness or emotion behind it - just a steel mask covering his true emotion. His hair was dark brown and he tilted his head to the side, studying me creepily. When he said nothing, I did. "I'm Aria, and this is Blake and Macy." I said, gesturing to the two people sitting in the carriage with us.

The boy nodded, blinking as he tore his gaze away from me."I'm Xavier," he said steadily and with a stiff nod and a flash of his silver eyes he turned and looked out the window as the carriages started moving again.

Macy, Blake and I exchanged a glance. Xavier seemed...off, in a way. And as I turned and stared at him he turned and met my gaze. I looked away first but I could sense Xavier smiling at my back.

Something about him just wasn't right...

I exited the wand shop, the hard wood underneath my fingers feeling right at place.

"Good," my Mother said. "You have your wand. What kind is it?" She peered at my new wand and I followed her gaze, twisting my new wand between my fingers.

"13 inches, cypress wood, and dragon heartstrings core." I replied. "The lady in there was creepy..." I glanced over my shoulder nervously but the old lady was still in the shop.

"Oh, come now." My Mother hushed me with a stern glare. "Ms. Corin is the best wandmaker in America." She said proudly.

"Uh, Mom?" I asked, glancing around us at the clouds drifting across the island floating in the sky. "Are we even IN America?"

If my Mother heard me she ignored me and I scowled as she stepped towards the rage eagle dozing on his perch.

"Hey, bird!" My Mother shouted up at the eagle and one eye opened with annoyance. I don't think I would've liked to be woken up by a shouting woman, either. "We're ready to return to our house." She climbed aboard the eagle as the huge bird crouched down to allow to to mount him, and I hesitantly climbed on the eagles back. The moment I was situated the eagle took off.

I thought flying up here would be the worst thing I'd done in my life. But now I knew that flying down back towards the ground was even worse. The huge eagle picked up speed, and I shut my eyes tight, my hands sweating as I clutched my wand tightly, trying to keep it from flying away behind me.

And in another flash of golden light, the eagle landed on the ground. Quickly I slid off the eagle and staggered into the house, trying not to vomit.

"I am never doing that again," I muttered to myself, dropping off my school supplies but keeping my wand with me. "Never again in this lifetime..."

"You get some rest, Aria." My mother called with a yawn. "We have to get up early tomorrow as to not miss the carriages to Ilvermorny..."

'The carriages?' I thought, but as my head hit my pillow I instantly fell asleep.

"No earlier than ten," I murmured to myself.

I was woken up a few hours before ten. "Mom, its five in the morning! Let me rest..." I moaned, shoving my face in my pillow.

"Get up, Aria! The carriages leave at six!" My Mother snapped.

"What carriages?" I asked, hopping out of bed.

"You'll see," my Mother grouches, heading out the door. I dressed in my school robes, made sure I had everything, and then followed her.

We waited for several minutes but nothing happened. "What carriages?" I asked my Mother, turning to face her.

"The carriages -" My Mother began but suddenly a rumbling shook the ground. "Earthquake!" I gasped.

But it wasn't an earthquake. Charging out from the side of the road came about fifty carriages, stopping in front of me.

Multiple students from other carriages waved and grinned at me.

"Welcome to the Ilvermorny carriages!" A woman called from the front carriage.

"Go!" My Mother hissed excitedly. "This is your ride to Ilvermorny!"

"Aria!" My Mother said to me as I entered the kitchen where she was getting breakfast ready, "We have to get you ready for your first day of Ilvermorny!"

Ilvermorny? I thought with confusion, and then remembered with a flash of excitement.

"Were getting my stuff today?" I said with excitement. "I thought school was starting -"

"School is starting tomorrow!" My Mother, being a fussy witch that had attended Ilvermorny, placed my breakfast on the table. "Eat up quickly, Aria!" She snapped. "I don't want the shop to be busy when we get there so we have to wait in long lines, do you understand me?"

"Alright, Mother," I replied and quickly ate my breakfast.

We headed out the door quite early, pale dawn light appearing over the horizon. My Mother looked around cautiously for Muggles and when she saw none rummaged for her wand.

"How do we get to the shop?" I asked, genuinely confused as my Mother pulled out her wand with a triumphant smile.

"Oh, I forgot that you didn't know..." she muttered to herself and with a shake of her head she gave me a cheery smile. "Just know that transportation is a little...DIFFERENT, let's say, from the usual Apparating."

I wasn't sure what to think of that and I flicked a long lock of dark brown hair behind my shoulder. "Oh-Kay, then," I said uncertainly.

With a swish of her wand nothing happened and my Mother slipped her wand away calmly.

"What just happened?" I asked with a frown. "Nothing just -"

And, out of the blue, a huge eagle swept down and landed before my Mother and I.

I paused, mouth agape at the sight of the eagle leaning down so we could get on. "We're RIDING ON AN EAGLE?" I said as my Mother climbed on the giant birds back and held out her hand for me. I took it cautiously and placed my knees around the huge eagle. And without another word the huge bird spread its large wings out and took off into the sky. My scream of pure panic was drowned out by the wind whipping through my hair and I held in tightly as to not fall off the eagle.

I didn't know how fast we were going, but it had to be over a billion miles per hour. I'm exaggerating of course, but it felt as if we were going that fast.

And in a flash of golden light the eagle perched down on a huge branch.

"Were here!" My Mother chirped and slid off the eagles back. She glanced around and moaned. "Look! The lines are so long!"
