Omg I just went, it’s all you could dream and more!
We all think about it as if Voldemort is the bad guy, but what if Tanya wasn’t the case? Think about the musical Wicked. What if we looked at it that way? Maybe we would find things out about Harry, or Dumbledore, that lead us to believe Voldemort had every right to do what he did, like The Wicked Witch of the West has the right to be mad at Dorothy. What do you guys think?

Well, in this theory, all the characters were in Harry’s head, so no Dumbledore or Tom... the theory suggests that Harry snapped while in that closet because of how he was abused so much as a child. As he went crazy, he imagined all those characters.
Mahaut, what is in it for the sorting hat? Well, if Voldemort told the sorting hat “Harry Potter is going to be a tough sorting, he shows traits of many houses. He also really wants Gryffindor to plz his parents... but maybe he should be Slytherin, he is very brave like his parents, also quite a-“

So as to your question, I think Voldemort, or Quirrel rather, would trick the sorting hat, with a play on words, to put Harry on Gryffindor.
This isn’t dead, and he hates Harry because he looks like his father which reminds him of how he had to hide his secret
