At the end of the day? Who cares? Tons of good stories have plotholes and I think all of you need to chill. Its her story, so what if she makes a few mistakes? She's been making mistakes since the first books (ie math being off, previously mentioned history not fitting a timeline). Just enjoy the story. To those threatening to leave the harry potter books and never look at JK Rowling books again, good riddance, you clearly arnt real fans of the books, becuase real fans love the stories, plotholes and all.

But for my thoughts on how this could be worked in a smooth way? Credence isn't really a Dumbledore, and Grindlewald is manipulating him. Being silver tongued is what he's kinda know for.

And for McGonagall? Idk, probs just an error on JK's end (ie, she forgot Minerva's age). She just wanted to include a cameo for us fans, and we turned it on her. Bet ya'll are happy now.
