It was published in 1997, not 1995.
And even then, them dating doesn't guarantee that they'll end up together
That's not actually true, though - canonically speaking, Hermione ended up with Ron, and Rose doesn't really have a love interest unless you count Cursed Child as canon
Considering what she was like in the books, that probably isn't very likely? She was quite full of herself to some extent in the books, I doubt she'd change that dramatically.
I think the "traumatizing bad guy who made a good choice" is supposed to be the option for people who hate him. Whether or not you think he's a good person, he did make a few good decisions - it's just questionable that those made him a good person.
I don't like him? While he did make good choices, I don't think those choices excuse the other things he did. Admittedly, how the side of the fandom that obsesses with and ships Snape tends to treat him has made my biases towards the character grow(cough pedophila cough Snarry and Snamione cough he has a religion cough cough cough), which might be a reason why.
Kind of? I think that he was kind of a bad person throughout the majority of the series, but at the same time his parents encouraged him to act the way he did through spoiling him and not enforcing any ground rules. I think he's a bit more interesting then Draco because he experiences a visible arc of sorts after Harry rescues him from the dementors.
I honestly don't? I think he's one-dimensional, largely. He was only there to be like the anti-Harry, we didn't really get to see a lot of him outside of that. Admittedly, it doesn't help that everyone acts like he's somehow the best thing ever, when he hasn't really done a lot to deserve the title. The only thing working in his favor is that he might have changed after Deathly Hallows.
Why would you buy Hermione? That's just creepy
Snape on a Grape... if only because I hate the Elf on the Shelf deal.
Honestly Fleur and Harry is better then some of the other stuff I've seen, mainly Snape ships because people will literally ship Snape with anyone and everyone who's younger then him for some reason(why? I don't know and I don't want to know). I've seen so many stories that ship Snape with Harry, Hermione, or some OC... and tbh they all just makes me want to vomit and leave the fandom altogether.
In answer to the question, I think I would probably answer Luna because I think they mesh really well together. Harry just saw Luna as Luna, and Luna pretty much saw Harry as Harry. They didn't enter their relationship with any expectations of who the other was, they just saw each other. That sort of relationship seems really sweet to me and I wish we got to see more of it.
Based on the social status of Shrek's world vs the Wizarding World... I think Shrek would probably be some kind of half-ogre/half-wizard hybrid. I don't really get the impression he would like Harry right off the bat, if anything I think he'd probably just see Harry as everything he never was and would just be kind of jealous of him. He might end up being friends with Ron, though...
If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably go with Drarry tbh. Drarry has at least somewhat of a chance of working without twisting the characters into something unrecognizable, if Dramione did magically work somehow it would just end up as being abusive. Hermione has at least some sense in her brain, I doubt she'd go for someone who has never shown a day of kindness to her in her life.
To be honest, I feel like I could ship it if it was set up well, but most of the Drarry fanfics I've seen are just weird, creepy, or tend to sexualize it
At the same time though, wouldn't it be more interesting if people weren't constantly happy? If people were constantly happy in Harry Potter, then it wouldn't have anywhere near its current level of fame because nobody would want to read it. It wouldn't have any conflict, and it wouldn't really bring anything interesting to the table.
Technically speaking, it's possible that Penelope could've been sorted into Gryffindor, it's just a bit questionable how Draco and Astoria would react
Like the only thing relating to this that I actually ship is Huna because I feel like Harry and Luna compliment each other very well, other then that I really don't have many? Honestly half of the ships on here I don't really like because I don't really get how people are willing to ship someone who spent the majority of the series as a child with someone who's easily 20 years his senior or with someone who hated their guts and would probably abuse them at any chance. I doubt that any ship really relating to Draco during this time would be healthy because he really was a toxic person during his Hogwarts years, and I don't really feel like Hermione was really behaving in a healthy manner towards Ron during their Hogwarts years.
He did help beat a chessboard set up by the teachers in his first year alone? And he stood up to Sirius at the end of POA despite probably thinking that he would probably die because of Sirius' reputation? I kind of hate how he's constantly portrayed as an idiot, yeah he isn't the most sensitive of people but he's not a dumb foodie by any means
Voldemort: chucks Harry out the window
Harry: *bounces back up*
Voldemort: hey you little turd guess what new idea
Just because it's a similar quote doesn't really mean anything? If there's other elements that are similar to Harry Potter I'd be a bit more concerned but it could easily be something entirely coincidental
