Severus Snape, now Lord Severus Tiberius Prince, was a proud man. No doubt about that. His words, when directed at enemies, were sharper than knives while directed at those he was close to could be smoother than a glacier of ice.

Now that he no longer had Lily, he managed to find love in someone who cares for him and started a family. Ursa and Dawn were his pride and joy, and he would do anything to keep them safe.

"Ursa," Severus said one evening after finishing a batch of potions for the Hospital Wing. "You know how my ex-best friend, her husband, and their cronies keep following us? Well, I've been working on a new spell and I want to show you and Dawn."

Speaking of Dawn, their daughter ran into the room crying. Ursa jumped up and wrapped the child in a hug before asking, "What's wrong, Sunrise?"

Dawn sniffled before explaining that Sirius cornered her in the hallway and hexed her with a spell before waking up in the Hospital Wing.

Fighting the urge to hex Black into oblivion, Severus remembered a lullaby that his mother used to sing when he was a child.

Taking Dawn into his arms, Severus started singing.

"Where the Northwind meets the sea

There's a river full of memory

Sleep, my darling, safe and sound

For in this river all is found"

He caressed Dawn's hair gently, relaxing her to the point of being half awake. Hearing a yawn encouraged Severus to continue.

"In her waters, deep and true

Lie the answers and a path for you

Dive down deep into her sound

But not too far, or you'll be drowned"

Severus placed Dawn on the couch and continued singing as she drifted into Morpheus's embrace.

"Yes, she will sing to those who hear

And in her song, all magic flows

But can you brave what you most fear?

Can you face what the river knows?"

Now Ursa was singing along with him. The two parents harmonized perfectly as they sang their child to sleep.

"Where the Northwind meets the sea

There's a mother full of memory

Come, my darling, homeward bound

When all is lost, then all is found"

It's moments like this that Severus is grateful he let Lily go and married Ursa instead. It's thanks to her that he got to this point in his life. Now, his little girl is in Hogwarts, and he's employed here as the Potions Professor.

Hopefully Lily and her pet Marauders will stay away from him and his family; otherwise he won't be responsible for what happens next.

~~With Lily and the others~~

Lily, James, Remus, and Sirius were in a staff meeting when a red letter appeared in front of Lily. Curious, and slightly dreading, she opened the letter.

"LILY JEAN POTTER, JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER, SIRIUS ORION BLACK AND REMUS JOHN LUPIN!! HEAR ME AND HEAR ME NOW! STAY AWAY FROM ME AND MY FAMILY, OR I WILL ENVOKE MY RIGHTS AS LORD EMYRS AND LORD PRINCE TO PRESS HARASSMENT CHARGES AND GET A RESTRAINING ORDER.

I MADE IT QUITE PLAIN AND CLEAR IN SIXTH YEAR THAT I WANTED NO FURTHER CONTACT WITH ANY OF YOU! AND YOU, SIRIUS ORION, IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT YOU CAN'T GET A RISE OUT OF ME, BUT YOU HAVE TO TARGET MY DAUGHTER AND LEAVE HER UNCONSCIOUS IN THE HALLWAY! I ALREADY HAVE A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST YOU, BLACK, SO DON'T MAKE THIS HARDER FOR YOURSELF.

AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SHIELDING YOUR PET LIONS FROM THIS, ALBUS PERCIVAL WULFRIC BRIAN DUMBLEDORE! IT'S TIME THAT THEY LEARNED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS. I OWE YOU FOR TURNING A BLIND EYE, SO NONE OF YOU ARE OFF THE HOOK YET.

WATCH YOUR BACK, GRYFFINDOR, FOR THE RAVEN KING WILL EXACT REVENGE."

With that, the Howler turned to dust, leaving everyone present pale and shaking with fear, dreading what will happen next.

She is the daughter of Lord and Lady Robin, and while she is kind, thoughtful, and generous, Ursa dislikes bullies and traitors.

Severus Snape sat by the lake at Hogwarts, reminiscing about the fiasco that had taken place the year before: The day he lost Lily Evans' friendship. It was a slip of the tongue, honestly, but why did she have to make such a fuss over it? He's apologized multiple times and kept trying to make it up to her; but the message was clear: Stay Away.

Now, Severus knew that he wasn't completely innocent in this. Mind you, he wouldn't have even said anything if those blasted Marauders had left him alone. All alone, Severus had time to reflect on things.

Lily only stood up for him once while he defended her for years. And, she acted like how the Marauders singled and targeted him was different than the Death Eaters' crusade to purge Muggles and Muggle-borns. They were exactly the same thing.

But, Lily didn't care, nobody did, and she abandoned him for James Potter.

He managed to run into Lily and the Marauders as they were leaving Transfiguration and blocked their path.

"Well, well, well," James had a cruel smile on his face. "The slimy snake has crawled out of his cold dungeon to play with the lions."

Severus internally scoffed and spoke, his voice loud and strong, "I think not, Potter. You know that you can't take me by yourself, which is why you have your cronies backing you up. And now, you've got Evans by your side. Wonderful. But, do you know why? Do any of you know why? My housemates are no better than you are."

Sirius was furious! "How dare you, Death Eater scum!"

"No! I'm going to speak. If you, Lily J. Evans, can't get both sides of the story before making conclusions, then maybe you don't need friends. You could've asked yourself 'Could he be under stress? Could something more be going on?' But no. You just abandon me over a slip of the tongue.

You could've done more against the Marauders, you're a witch for Merlin's sake and have a wand, but no. You stood by and did nothing until last year. Maybe in your mind, I'm the bad guy, but you, Ms. Goody two-shoes, are just as much to blame as me.

Speaking of which, I, Severus Tiberius Prince, son of Eileen Snape née Prince and descendant of Merlin Emyrs, do hereby disown Lily Jean Evans as my friend and sister in all but blood. May I never have contact with her again unless completely unavoidable. So I say, so mote be it.

It's like you told me, Evans, You've chosen your way, and I've chosen mine. Good-bye, Lily."

With that, Severus turned his heel and stalked off, leaving behind a crowd of stunned students, pale Marauders, and a heartbroken Lily staring after him.

~~15 years later~~

A much younger Severus stood at Platform 9¾ with two other people. There was a woman with white hair and ocean eyes and a younger girl with streaked hair and blue eyes.

"Dawn, are you excited for Hogwarts?" Severus asked the girl in front of him.

"Yes, Daddy!" Dawn replied, hugging her parents before boarding the train. As the train pulled out of the station, Severus pulled his wife, Ursa, close to him and watched with a smile.

From afar, Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus watched Severus with varying looks. Lily looked heartbroken, James looked forlorn, Sirius was upset, while Remus was just relieved.

None of them had any contact with Severus since his outburst, and Severus was content to keep it that way. He was happy now, with a family of his own. After letting go of his past, Severus was able to accept his future.
