I'm rewatching PoA right now and it really ticks me off how they forshaddow Hermiones time travelling. Having her appear out of thin air during class just does not make sense. Sure she slipped up in the books here and there and disappeared but the movie makes it so obvious that it makes the student characters (I assume the teachers know about the situation) look lowkey stupid. I'm not the biggest fan of that movie adaptation in general but I can't think of another explanation for this other than "lazy writing"

In my mind it was less of a "drink until there's nothing left" situation but rather a "drink until you reach the locket" situation in which the drink of despair refills itself automatically. If you didn't grab the locket, the basin would refill itself

IMO there are different kinds of evil. It's hard to say whic is the worst one as they all impact different types of people for different intentions. I think Voldemort is the worst evil as far as we know because h didn't truly seek to better anything seriously, he didn't protect anything, h didn't care for anything. People are more than their bodycounts
No. And I have long stopped listening to JKRs afterthoughts which logically cannot be canon. E.G. The plumbing situation. I've read fanfiction more convincing and logical than the cursed child. I can accept it as a strange AU from the real time-line but that's about it
Tbh I don't think there is an in universe reason since the whole thing isn't really well thought through (timing, the basiliks size, the creation of the chamber allegedly before there were bathrooms, the monster having to take out all the muggleborns for the mission to be successful etc.) but I could imagine something like this:
Mrs. Norris was supposed to be a trial run of some sort. The diary wanted to test it's influence over Ginny, how she'd react afterwards and how obedient the Basilisk still was. The plan wasn't to take out one muggleborn at a time initially, since that's what Tom tried during his school years and he failed rather miserably.
Only after Mrs Norris ended up petrified did the diary change plans to reveal the chamber was opened again. Dumbledore would've looked for the reason of petrification anyway.
The victims after that were specifically chosen to only get petrified so that the school would stay open until Riddle could come back through the diary.
I mean, I don't think you can heal something that isn't alive and growing, the same way you can only repair objects and not people
Not surprising that the casting is quite tone deaf especially when it comes to Snape. JKR has shown quite odd narratives about her work that sadly scream white, terf feminism, which alligns with the whole "I see no colour" narrative. An honest and authentic take would be an almost all white cast (aside from Cho, the Patils, Dean, Angelina, Lee and Kingsley) instead of taking characters with clearly white mindsets and backgrounds to be turned POC for the sake of inclusivity. JKR wrote Snape as a white boy, his story only adds up as a white boy. Fake inclusivity doesn't help anyone
That's honestly so disappointing. Daniel, Emma and Rupert gave their adolescence for the series and heavily contributed to HPs success. Yes, the books were very successful on their own but without the movies the story would not have had the generational impact it did
Snapes Bullying, Snapes Riddle in the first book, the story of how the marauders became animagi, Harry realising that he hears his parents being murdered when Dementors attack him and struggling with the idea of wanting to hear them, the magical creatures in the maze in GoF, "Moody" using the imperius curse on the students, Winky and SPEW, most of Dobby in the 4th and 5th year, Barty Crouch Jr.s backstory and ending, the explanation for Snape calling himself the half blood prince, all the bad things Snape did in his memory and finally the "For him?" Snape said before showing Dumbledore his Patronus
Both can be annoying but the most frustrating to me are the ones who don't differenciate between book and movie Snape cause they're barely the same character.
I get why they did it from a storytelling aspect but when Ron is saying "when did she get here" during the lessons, so it's not like she was already in class before them but rather appeared during class. In both Lupins class as well as Snapes lesson she physically isn't there in the beginning of the scene and it's not like she could have sprinted to her place in either scene, then it wouldn't have startled Ron and Harry respectively
I can appreciate that film and book are different medias and can't show a story in the same way but it does feel like the movies were adapting the story with the end of their respective book in mind and thus make the story often seem a bit too "start to finish"

^whether or not they knew time travelling was a thing, I think Hermione just appearing out of thin air in front of them should raise some eyebrows, no? I mean as the audience we only see what the camera picks up but if you were standing in Professor Lupins class and Hermione just poofed up into your vision, it would raise questions
Alright: First, it's never easy to tell them apart, the devil is in the details and when watching a movie, you don't tend to zoom in that much but here are a couple of ways:
When they adress one another, take note of their voices (that's the easiest one but because of puberty, their voices change each movie)
Ollivers (Georges) features are more slim. His face is a bit longer and skinnier, his cheekbones more pronounced and the tip of his nose is a bit more downward turning. Also he has a mole on the right side of his neck.
James (Freds) face is a bit fuller and his moutha bit more straight when resting (Ollivers upper lip is more curved upwards on the left side)
I would suggest looking up the Phelps twins and spotting their differences first before trying it on the movies.Maybe it's because their faces are fully matured but the differences seem more drastic on the people rather than the characters

^^ That is so beyond messed up. Houseelves in general are an iffy subject but making them actually physically unable to resist?
I think the stuff he went through made him the type of hero he is. He is constantly putting his life in danger for others. No matter if it's Hogwarts, the greater good, his family or friends, they always seem to come first. He was completely fine to die for Ginny when he was only 12. He did die for the greater good at 17. No regards for himself anywhere and that is not normal.
But of course, if you're treated like a second class citizen for all of your childhood, it's hard to value yourself and not only that but as soon as he entered the magical world he became this idolized symbol of a person. People were exited about him because he was the boy who lived, not because of who he was
Edit: maybe that could be Nr. 7 being an Idol and not being able to meet someone from the magical world on eye level. Of course he made many great friends but most people knew his story before he did and a lot didn't care to actually get to know him beyond the title of "The boy who lived"

Alright so I'm a Malfoy in Slytherin and my bffs are Luna and Hermione (Mum and Dad are gonna love this). My beloved little Pygmy Puff will be named Garfield the 2nd which would have Professor McGonnagal raise her eyebrows but I'm at the top of her class so it'll be fine. My yule ball date with Crabbe flunked so badly that I dumped him right after (It was arranged by our parents anyways, there's no other way I would've even considered him).
I'm sure my parents are beyond disappointed in me for becoming an auror and marrying Neville Longbottom but what do they know anyways, well I gues Daddy dearest couldn't accept it, sent some of his DE friends and had me killed, I'm sure Mum will never forgive him though
