Great question! There isn’t any official information on them, but the wand woods we know about are mostly from European trees.

The only problem might be that bamboo technically isn’t a tree, being classified as “grass” (for the lack of better translation from my native language), but elder isn’t either, it’s actually a bush. (Even though it’s commonly misnamed as small tree by gardeners.)

Definitely. Not using the students as an example, but the lesson had to be mentioned to teachers at least once and no one was suspicious.

And, to be fair, even though it was traumatic for some (Neville), it was actually very useful and I don’t think Moody would put the comfort of his students above their safety. But he would be a little more empathetic.

This may be surprising, but Hokey. We haven’t seen much of her, but we know that she served her mistress well and was quiet and obedient. I find Dobby annoying, Winky hysterical and dependent and Kreacher is simply rude.

Dobby is easily the best to have as a friend, but I wouldn’t want to have him in my house 24/7.

Horned serpent. They are very intelligent and not as unpredictable as dragons or as dangerous as basilisks. But it’s huge, lives in water and probably eats a lot at once, too. My second pick, Wampus cat, would be much easier to manage, but I prefer snakes.
