Can anyone please remind me where it is said that muggle tech doesn’t work with magic? Or point me to an article here that describes the phenomena? Thanks!
I heard somewhere that if you can’t sneeze u just die so probably he can but like, just does a bad job of it
I mean, the one thing I would say is that it’s remarked that only young wizard kids really keep in touch with the muggle world due to school, so everyone else doesn’t really get involved. Also I think at one point it’s written that all the muggle fashion trends they wear is outdated (like ten years or so), so I imagine that would stem to music. But maybe the wizarding world has their own Britney Spears. Other than that, it’s a nice headcannon!
I think maybe the age line would have burnt up the paper or rebuffed their magic, since it’s more of a force field than an actual line yk
There’s quite a lot of stuff in London since a lot of HP was filmed here. You can visit King’s Cross and see the entrance to 9 3/4, do themed escape rooms and stuff, also there’s quite a few tours (most famously Warner Bros Studio tour). Other then that I’d maybe go and visit filming sites? I think Diagon Alley was based off Leadenhall Market so could be cool to see that. Also if you have time, you can go up to Scotland and ride the Hogwarts Express which I here is pretty cool. Idk about Paris, but I hope that helps for London!!

Viktor Krum
Expecto patronum
Sorry, can I just check what incarnations mean? I presume it means that a person is represented by a line or something, but am not sure in this context
Is it linked to memories?
It’s not really about power, it’s about the way JKR’s magic system works
I’d imagine they perform a curse similar to the fidelius
You’re probably only getting negative responses because anyone who actually read the books realises why dramione is a terrible idea…
(I also don’t ship it)
I don’t think so, because it is implied that one can make a blood pact for a variety of reasons. That Dumbledore is asked ‘why’ he would do such a thing with Grindelwald suggests to me that one can have motives more than romantic. And subsequently, the parallel between marriage seems to fail. For instance, if you made a blood pact with your literal brother, would that mean you were married? Husband and wife? I don’t think so. I think it is literally what we call it, a blood pact. An oath that is enforced by magic and blood, preventing people from harming each other.
No, they can’t be two animals. It’s whatever animal they are attuned to the most. It’s also a highly dangerous process, so I imagine that for those who could potentially be attuned to more than one (although I view this as very unlikely and rare) they’d probably injure themselves or die during transformation ect.
^^^^ I agreee
But also, to a certain extent, everything is addictive. Addiction is psychological and addicts replace interpersonal relationships with drugs, as we can see in rat park studies ect. So, I don’t see why potions wouldn’t be drugs. Because the definition of what a ‘drug’ or ‘narcotic’ is simply something effects your mood and is consumed for non-medical purposes. E.g. stimulants can be used to control ADHD in the context of médecine, but can also be used to enhance behaviours and become effectively speed for non-medicinal users. Consequently, we can see the dual nature of many substances.
And seeing as Harry Potter is a boarding school for children in a book, drugs don’t really feature very often as a concept. We do know certain things such as Alihotsy, can induce narcotic effects, but it isn’t explored in great depth. However, I would say that there is enough evidence in the books to support an interpretation of potions/spells/herbs as being used as drugs. The only thing for me that stands out, however, is whether you’d classify certain drinks as potions, e.g. firewhiskey, gigglewater… because if you don’t, then perhaps there is something similar for drugs.
I love Linny, but I ship Hinny so I’m contractionally obliged to say meh
I think they’d have invented different spells persay, that did the same or similar effects. It’d probably be in an older language however. So like, Ancient Egyptian or sm for certain areas, ect.
I’m writing a story where mc is a Ravenclaw and need lots of riddles! Regular riddles work, but it would be cool to have some that fit the wizarding world too! Any ideas?
Tbf this user might be talking about ships like ‘dobbyxsock’ which just…
Have you also not considered that perhaps Harry didn’t name Lily-Luna ‘Luna’? Whilst obviously Harry did like Luna, and they were friends, she was also Ginny’s bestfriend. I think that Ginny named her -which is fair since why should Harry have all the say in their kids names?
