Well, people usually headcanon Tonks as a lesbian to see more representation in Harry Potter, or to connect more to a character they like. In the same fashion, people will get upset when you ignore the one LGBT+ character in Harry Potters sexuality because it’s erasure. It’s quite simple, really.

People who headcanon Tonks as a lesbian aren’t “making her a lesbian”, it’s just a headcanon that you can disagree with if you want. But if you disagree, you should do so respectfully, not in a joke that is not funny whatsoever.

You are allowed to modify the potions if you so wish and use any of your senses to identify them.
