In my opinion, they were portrayed as bland, personality-lacking people who has absolutely nothing in common with those same characters in the series. For instance, Hermione and Ginny. In the movies, Hermione was a bit of a mary sue and Ginny...well, you know what I mean. Dumbledore is another good example.

Rushed? Nah. They had years to work out their feelings, and Ron was shown to be jealous in GoF because Hermione was going to the Yule Ball with Krum. And then again, they weren't getting along because Ron was going out with Lavender. They argued, for sure, but those didn't last long and they were back to friends in no time. Plus, how was it even forced? They loved each other. In between the time when they argued and when they became a couple, they grew to care for each other. JKR could've just as easily paired them with someone else other than each other, but she didn't. About the forth point, Hermione is too stressed about education and Ron is just the perfect partner to help her with that. In addition, Hermione can also help Ron his studies, so it's a win-win and I don't see how their personalities don't work out.
