By using memory charm, you may alter/erase whole or part of someone's memory. I see this as the violation of a person's individuality as this deprives of their original thoughts. We also have the instance of Gilderoy Lockhart who used memory charms in such an undue manner. Then how come memory charms not illegal or Ministry of Magic not tracing out when and where one has used it?

But it is not that often that Muggles would learn about Wizarding World than it is often for a wizard/witch to misuse it on another wizard/witch.
@The Dark Marc That sums up much of what I wanted. Thanks. It seems now that other Horcruxes still would kill Harry as they have tried to. Because it's more important to keep themselves intact and alive than 'thinking' about any kinship with the person whom they try to kill.

@Little Purr-incess I thoght since the ring has voldy's soul piece it must be able to detect another piece of the same soul of Voldy which is inside Harry. Also I think the ring might have a hard time deciding whether to kill Harry due to this.
I was just wondering what would happen if Harry wears the Gaunt ring which is a Horcrux and is intended to kill anyone who tries to wear it. But Harry has a part of Voldemort's soul inside him. So will the ring try to kill Harry due to his own soul or not kill him and let him wear it due to Voldemort's soul inside him? My speculation is that it will not kill Harry because both are Horcruxes in slightly different ways of the same person's soul. So technically why should a Horcrux destroy another Horcrux containing a piece of the same soul.

This could be the spark of a good discussion. I think if I Voldy would have this truth, he would have gone the easier way. This proves that the Malfoys were so careless in their allegiance towards him.

Here I was watching a video on YouTube about HP that explained that Dementors such away your soul and left is little fraction inside you of your own soul. This means a large part of your soul now resides inside a dementor and the remaining part inside your mortal body. Also we know Dementors do not eject or die so the part must remain there. They also do not kill but leaves a person in a horribly shattered state.
All of this seemed familiar to what a Horcrux does. Retaining a part of your soul and the other part inside your body. My question comes down to if someone could use Dementors in this way as a Horcrux. If it is possible, we would not have to commit murder to make a Horcrux. What are your thoughts about it?

Do you guys know about or read the James Potter series written by Norman Lippert? I know that it is non-canon and fan-made but I got curious about what is in it as there are 5 books in the series and is significantly massive. Should I read it?
