@Rosie. Geee Wait, you're talking about how the light from HARRY'S wand is about to touch Voldemort's and that's when Voldemort starts to shrivel up? Because as HARRY starts to win that final battle, Voldemort starts to die and it ultimate happens after HARRY completes the final blow? Gotcha, you're right. His hand starts to change because of HARRY's spell that is starting to win, not the death of the snake.
HAHAHAHA! In your own clip there are NO flakes at 2:24. You need to clean your screen and watch again.
@Rosie. Geee Hah! Two things for you. To answer your first snarky comment, yes, I have watched the same movie. I even did it on slow-motion and the only time you see any flecks you are referring to is around the snake NOT Voldemort. Second, I am new to fandom. I was watching the movies again and looking up some stuff on them and came across this post. Your ideas were so provably false, and I wanted to point them out. Your points like saying the prophecy glows near Neville is irrelevant and proves nothing to your claim. What I find interesting is that you get very defensive when someone points out the flaws in your thoughts. I am done wasting time on your condescending remarks.
@Rosie. Geee you are leaving out several big points from the movies that proves it isn’t Neville. While Neville saw the prophecy, the films clearly state only those whom they are about can retrieve them. Harry was the one who pulled it off the shelf. Voldemort also knew where it was and showed Harry in a vision. The only reason Harry didn’t go to it first is because he was looking for Sirius. While Neville saw it, he did NOT retrieve it. Harry did, and Harry wouldn’t have been able to if the prophecy wasn’t about him.
The prophecy in the movie does say the dark lord will mark him as his equal. Harry was marked from Voldemort the night he was attacked. If you don’t want to count the scar as proof of him being marked, Neville lacked the courage Harry had to face Voldemort. To be marked as an equal, he would need the same courage and skill to be able to fight against Voldemort, which only Harry had. Harry was also an orphan like Voldemort, while Neville’s parents technically are still alive. These points alone prove it is Harry and not Neville.
Finally, because Voldemort tried to use the elder wand against its true master, the killing curse rebounded to kill Voldemort AFTER the snake was killed. Neville didn’t kill Voldemort, and last I checked rewatching the movies, there weren’t any flecks of dust coming off Voldemort when the snake was killed. There was some sort of smoke and flakes around Neville because he was near Nagini and the last horcrux that was killed, but if you watch the movie back in slow motion, there is NONE around Voldemort himself until AFTER Harry defeats this.
I know you are trying to make an argument for Neville, but I must say you’re wrong in this, and your claims are provably false. If you actually watch and listen to the dialogue in the movies, which also align with the books, you will see that your claims are refuted. I would argue that the movies are quite clear that it is Harry and not Neville contrary to what you are claiming.
