The next morning when petunia of number four piviet drive opened the door for the milk, she was quite shocked to see, instead of her milk, a green eyed baby, babbling up at her.

"V-vernon?" Petunia said, staring in shock at the small child in front of her.

Vernon Dursley shuffled up to her and said groggily, "Yes, dear? Has the milk come yet?"

Then he seemed to come out of his sleepiness, "What the-?! Petunia?! where has this come from?!" Guesturing at baby Harry Potter.

"I have no idea, he was just on our doorstep." Petunia picked up the child and an envelope flew out of his blankets.

Petunia handed the baby to Vernon, who looked quite uncomfortable, picked up the envelope, and read it.

Petunia got whiter and whiter the more she read, finally, when reached the bottom, she looked at Vernon with wide eyes.

"L-Lily, s-shes dead." Petunia whispered

"This is Lily's?" Vernon said, holding up a giggling Harry. "He don't look like he has any... abnormality."

"Well of course he doesn't!" Petunia snapped "The magic doesn't show 'till they're seven!"

Then, realising what she had just said, closed her mouth in horror. She stuck her horsey head out the door, looked around, and closed it.

"Well, we shouldn't have to pay for him!" Vernon said indignantly. "Unprecidented!"

"THIS says we must." Petunia grumbled, guesturing at the envelope.

"And why should we listen to them? It's a free country!" Vernon huffed.

"They're," She looked around, and whispered, "wizards, they can do horrible things to us!"

Vernon grumbled and muttered something about "mockery of justice" and grumped,

"At least he doesn't look like a handful." Holding up the baby, who burped and giggled.

"Mama," the two adults looked around to see their baby, Dudley Dursley crawling up to them.

"Well if hes going to live to our house, he might as well meet Dudley" Petunia said, she took Harry and set him down to meet Dudley.

"Are you sure Petunia?"

She sighed, "We'll make this work, just, stomp out the magic! thats what we'll do!" She smiled. "Yes, this'll work! he won't even do any magic we won't have to worry about him at all!"

At least, thats what she thought
