Yes, I agree to what you said about Dumbledore, I had this sneaking suspicion but:
Dumbledore couldn't have known this earlier unless he had a Time-Turner too, which is not very likely, and returned back to see how Buckbeak had escaped.
As we all know how a brilliant genius he was, a more likely reason is that he had guessed that when Harry and Hermione were against Sirius being locked up, they maybe would have time-travelled and rescued Buckbeak and since Sirius is locked up too, he had deduced the would save him too.
This is a better reason, as Buckbeak disappearing isn't a serious matter enough for him to investigate to the extreme of time travelling, if he had a Time-Turner.
@CaptainRex567 Yes, fellow Hufflepuff, many of us have been treated like that and I think you will be the great Lord Hufflemort , wreaking vegeance for all of us because you will laugh our bullies to death :)
I don't know why but many of my friends got Hufflepuff too.
