The Dark Mark was described as the symbol worn by the followers of Voldemort. So did he actually have the mark himself? Obviously when he got a new body, it wasn't marked, so he used Peters- but I can't recall if he actually branded himself in the final 3 books..

Did Voldemort consider himself a Death Eater or was that the name he assigned to his closest followers?

This is something I’ve wondered since I was a kid. Now, there may never be an official answer, but I have a feeling that it ended up in the Room of Requirement. If so, it was most likely destroyed in the Fiendfyre.

Hey so I'm currently back at my Harry Potter hyperfixation, and refreshed myself with Fantastic Beasts film series. Then I wondered, is there a possibility that it's not actually a trilogy? That we may get a sequel? Then I checked on article here and read that "it's unlikely" and "series was shelved". So, does it mean there will be no 4 and 5 movie for sure? Or maybe there is possibility?

Since creating a horcrux can make you immortal why doesn't every wizard just make their own? they don't have to make seven like Voldemort they can just make one or two. Then Witches or Wizards would live forever and not worry about any spell that could kill them everyone in the wizarding world would live a lot longer if they made horcruxes too they just have to hide them better then Voldemort did.

Just to get this out of the way, I've only seen the film, and whatever I find on here. So I am not versed on the books, the websites, JK Rowling's words, etc, beyond what little I have seen for myself. And I was going to ask this via the talk page of the Durmstrang Ship article, but then it may serve better to be asked here. But then I may be mistaken as far as protocol here. Anywho, my question is regarding the Durmstrange ship as depicted in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, book versus the film.

From what I know, the ship can sail underwater and rise from the depths. One may compare it to the Flying Dutchman from Disney Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, beginning with the 2006 sequel film Dead Man's Chest. Though I assume that this idea was already done first by the Durmstrange Ship in the 2005 film, and perhaps the book itself, presuming the description posted in the Wiki article is verbatim from the book.

Please let me know if I'm missing anything here. Also, sorry if the answer is too obvious, and of course if this has been asked and answered before.

Quick question, is there a mistake on the wiki's behalf or just a continuity error on Rowling's--1st Year Hogwarts students have 2 classes at the same time for the same period block, of the exact same day.

I have taken note that 1st Year History of Magic and 1st Year Transfiguration both happen on Thursday during the 2nd period.

This however doesn't make sense via the timeline, as given, unless all the 1st years have time-turners, which weren't introduced until Prisoner of Azkaban, this should not be happening.

The only logical explanation I have come up with so far is that the classes exchange weeks, with one happening one week and the other the following--however I am not the most certain on this. Thoughts?

Now obviously we all know that Harry can see into Voldemort's mind when he is sleeping, it's happened a lot.

But what if they were sleeping at the same time for whatever reason?

Harry Potter: Is there another way in the Prisoner of Azkaban book that Snape could've caught Harry and interrogated him by insulting him about James and then asking about the Marauder's Map if Harry had managed to remain invisible under the Cloak while attacking Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle like in the film.

I must also say that in the film adaptation, I thought the way it happened when Harry saw Peter Pettigrew's name on the map and went into the corridors searching for him, until Snape caught him.

I just became a HP fan recently and I have no idea where else to ask the question so

I mean if harry didn't take draco's wand in malfoy manner then he won't be the master of the elder wand right? Because malfoy is the master of the elder wand before harry(he disarmed Dumbledore on the tower)

So not being the master of the elder wand, harry won't be able to defeat Voldemort in the final battle even if all the horcrux is destroyed, because the reason harry won is because the wand doesn't hurt its own master. So is the victory of harry is all dependent on him taking draco's wand? Like if he did everything dumbledore told him to do(destroy all the horcrux) but didn't grab draco's wand out of his hand, then harry will end up killed by voldemort in the final battle because I don't think harry could win against a duel with Voldemort . So I am really confused on this, how did dumbledore predict that harry is going to be the master of the elder wand? If he didn't plan this part, how is harry going to win without being the master of the wand?
