In the book, Griphook's fate was left ambiguous after he abandoned Harry, Ron, and Hermione, whereas in the movies, Voldemort kills him.

However, in the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, an unnamed goblin is murdered by Voldemort. This goblin is most likely not Griphook, as the goblin is unnamed. Also, it took place in Malfoy Manor, and Griphook would be reluctant to return there because of him being held captive there.

Griphook's fate in the book is never revealed after he betrays Harry and his friends, but if he is still alive, he'll have to live with the fact that he failed to hold onto the Sword of Gryffindor. I wonder how he would've reacted and felt about it.

So, I was reading book 6 again, and I’ve been wondering for a while. What exactly did Greyback do to Bill? Like, it’s explains that he got savaged, and that he might have some wolfish qualities, but what exactly did he do? Like, did he bite him or something?

In the "Werewolf" page of this Wikia, there is a bit that shows Lupin responding to the call from Sirius in his Animagus form.

But what do these mean?

Does anyone think that golems - creatures made of an inanimate substance, made animate and (in rare cases) given a free will - are possible in the Harry Potter universe?

Was there any battles during the First Wizarding war?

I think the additions of the fossil throwing and Hermione howling like a wolf with werewolf Lupin coming after her and Harry with Buckbeak saving them were good ideas. They should've been in the book too.

In the book, Harry realizing that the Patronus that saved them all was his own comes as a random moment of success. But in the film with the addition of the scenes of future Harry and Hermione influencing past events (like Hermione throwing the rocks into Hagrid's hut to warn their past selves, and howling to distract Lupin in his werewolf form), so there is a solid basis for Harry's realization.

Also, when Lupin tries to attack, Harry attempts to shield Hermione and when Buckbeak fights with Lupin, Harry continues shielding her and when Lupin is gone, Hermione is scared by the atttack and hides her face in Harry's shoulder, this shows Buckbeak's loyalty to Harry and defending him when he's in danger and also Harry's close friendship with Hermione and how protective he is of her, as well as his other loved ones.

There are 7 years, how many students would be in the whole of:

Gryffindor

Ravenclaw

Hufflepuff

Slytherin

Because it wonders me how many bedrooms would be in each and is it big enough to cope for each student. Surely the common rooms are big enough for everyone. What happens if one year has more students than expected?

Wait, forgive me if I'm being dumb, but why couldn't Harry see Thestrals before Cedric's death? Didn't he witness his mother's death? Anyway sorry if I'm wrong

I don't know what exactly I'm asking but I'm going to try explaining it.

Harry Potter is a very complicated universe where everything is linked by some shape or form, which in terms of creative writing is really hard to achieve it all, and in a book many drafts are made. Did JK Rowling ever publish any like pre-Harry Potter phase with all the rough notes of how everything will be connected and the timelines and stuff because I think that would be an interesting thing to read especially as it opens many doors to how the universe was created and how much thought it took.

If Hedwig, a random owl could find Sirius in a top secret location, and wizards can fly on insanely fast broomsticks, then why did the Ministry, while trying to catch Sirius, not just address an owl to Sirius and follow the owl?

Or address an owl to Voldemort to find him and follow the owl.

I just had this random thought I want to share while re-reading Chamber of Secrets.

So Colin Creevey is a muggle-born. He said so to Harry about his dad being a milkman and how they were both surprised when Colin got his acceptance letter. Then he gets attacked by the basilisk. With those facts, he is obviously a muggle-born, and we all probably know that.

But then, in Goblet of Fire, Colin is revealed to have a brother named Dennis who also got accepted into Hogwarts.

What are the chances of 2 muggle-born wizards in the same family???

I think it could have something to do with their mom, who (I’m pretty sure) was never mentioned, or it was a mistake/coincidence.

Not sure if anyone's thought about this before, but I'll share my thought/question. Does anyone else think that it's weird that throughout the 7 Harry Potter books, we only had 1 supply Professor? Like how is it possible that within 7 years of school, they only had 1 supply Professor in Professor Grubbly-Plank, who of course, filled in for Hagrid's Care of Magical Creatures class for a few months. Also, does this mean that there other supply Professors in the UK and Ireland that would only be able to supply at Hogwarts, unless they moved to France, Bulgaria, the U.S., Brazil, Russia, Japan or Uganda, of course. Like does this mean that if you are a Professor, and you're not hired right away because your predecessor hasn't either died or retired, you're just a sack of potatoes?

And yes, I'm well aware that the really simple answer to the first and main question is that J.K. Rowling probably just didn't want to bring in new professors for each school year or even the fact that she probably wanted you to get attached to the Professors. Feel free to let me know your thoughts!

1. Moody's Magical Eye

In GoF, there are numerous instances in which we see what Moody's magical eye is capable of doing. Barty Crouch Jr., disguised as Moody, was able to see through solid wood, and Harry's invisibility cloak, which is supposed to be impenetrable. Also, if i recall correctly, didn't he see through Harry's robes and compliment his socks during the Yule Ball? So, if Moody's eye can see through all these things, does that mean that, to Moody, everyone looked like they weren't wearing any clothes? That's a really weird thought that has been bothering me for a long time, and I really want to know the answer. Another somewhat related question I had was, how did both the normal eye and the magical eye work at the same time? For us, both eyes function at the same time, but since for him, each eye had a different function, I was wondering how that would work.

2. Owls and Tracking

In OotP, Harry sent an owl to Ron and Hermione while they were at OotP headquarters. Despite the building being protected by the Fidelius Charm, Hedwig was able to reach Ron and Hermione without any trouble. Even in other instances, letters that were sent by owl post effortlessly reached their destination, without the sender having any idea of where the receiver was. From this, I've come to the conclusion that owls can track anyone, anywhere. So why couldn't the Death Eaters in Book 7 simply have sent letters to the people they were looking for, and then set some kind of tracking spell on the owls? Or even simpler: they could've just grabbed broomsticks and followed the owls. This probably wouldn't have worked if the destination of a letter was protected by the Fidelius Charm, but they still could've caught a fair number of people using this method. So why didn't they? Why did they have to resort to less effective measures like Snatchers and the Voldemort taboo?

Bonus question: do any of you have a random side character that you hyperfixate on for no reason at all and come up with a ton of headcanons for in your head? Mine would probably be Oliver Wood; I don't know why, but I've cooked up a whole backstory for him.

I would really appreciate it if someone knew the answers for these questions!
