Christening Harry Potter

The christening of Harry Potter in 1980 or 1981

Christening (also known as baptism) was a ritual performed to admit a person into the Christian faith, typically involving the pouring of water on the forehead, or full or partial immersion of the body in water.[1]

Robes were typically worn to christenings held in the wizarding world.[2]

Baptisms were held at Christmas in the St Jerome's Church in Godric's Hollow.[3]

The christening of Harry Potter was held at the height of the First Wizarding War in 1980 or 1981, and was a "very hurried, quiet affair" featuring only Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter, and their best friend, Sirius Black.[4]
