14 February is the 45th day of the year. There are 320 days remaining (321 in leap years) until the end of the year. It also known as Valentine's Day.
- c. 1970s or 1980s: Gilderoy Lockhart sends himself eight-hundred Valentines, causing breakfast to be cancelled due to the number of droppings and feathers in the porridge.
- 1993: Harry Potter receives a singing love letter from Ginny Weasley, although she never revealed her identity. Later, he looks at a memory of a sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle through his old school diary.
- 1996: Harry Potter and Cho Chang have their first (and only) date, at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop in Hogsmeade. After Harry tells her that he has to go see Hermione Granger, Cho gauges his feelings for her and tried to discuss about Cedric Diggory's death, only for a huge misunderstanding and quarrel to breakout, with Cho leaving out of jealousy. Harry then gives an interview Hermione arranged with Rita Skeeter about the night Lord Voldemort returned, which is subsequently printed in The Quibbler.
