The 2006 Quidditch World Cup was an international Quidditch sporting event occurring in 2006.[1] It was the 425th edition of the World Cup.[1][2]

The final was between Burkina Faso and France, with Burkina Faso winning 300 to 220.[1] The Burkinabé Seeker, Joshua Sankara, was promptly named Minister for Magic of his country, although he resigned just two days after taking office, as he would much rather play Quidditch.[1]
