• 28 March: Richard Griffiths, who played Vernon Dursley, died (aged 65) from complications during a heart surgery.
• 5 June: Takkō Ishimori died.
• 27 August: 15th anniversary editions of the Harry Potter books, with new cover artwork by Kazu Kibuishi, are released in the United States of America.
• 12 November: Wonderbook: Book of Potions is released.
• 18 November: Peter Cartwright, who played Elphias Doge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, died.
