Professor Snape teaching the first-years' debut Potions class on this day in 1991
- 1991: Hedwig delivers her first message to Harry Potter: an invitation to visit Rubeus Hagrid that afternoon. In the morning, the first-years have their first Potions class with Professor Snape; Harry gets on Snape's bad side and loses two points from Gryffindor. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley have tea with Hagrid at three o'clock; while having tea they read a copy of the Daily Prophet concerning the break-in at Gringotts that took place the same day that Harry and Hagrid visited Diagon Alley.[1]
- 1995: Harry has detention with Dolores Umbridge. The Quidditch Keeper tryouts take place during his detention. He unsuccessfully tries to watch from her window. Ron gets the place.[2]
