This letter was sent by Abigail Grey to an unidentified Muggle-born Hogwarts student to thank them for helping her to reunite with her father and for aiding werewolves in Hogsmeade. The letter briefly ended up lost in the Hogwarts Library when the owl carrying it got accidentally hit by a fifth year's Confundus Charm, although the student was able to recover it.[1]

Feels a bit odd writing you a letter when I see you every day in the Great Hall. But seeing as I've never been good with this sort of sappy stuff, I thought I'd have a better go of getting all my thoughts out in writing.
From the moment my dad left, all I've ever wanted was to find him and convince him to come back home. With your help, I was not only able to do just that, but also clear innocent werewolves' names in the process. I don't know if werewolves will ever truly be welcome in Hogsmeade, but people like you give me hope.
But I'd better go. I'm meeting up with Dad and we have a lot of catching up to do. I don't think he's quite forgiven himself yet and I'm not sure things can ever go back to the way they were. But, thanks to you, we just might be able to move forward.
