The Accounting Department[1] was a division of the British Ministry of Magic.
The department was tasked with the comprehensive recording, analysing, and reporting of financial transactions incurred by the British Ministry of Magic, including its income and expenditures.[1][2]

During the 2010s, Grim Fawley sent and filed an interdepartmental memo to the Accounting Department regarding the closing of an investigation into the whereabouts of his wife Penelope for financial reasons, insisting that the numbers they provided were inconsistent with the actual costs of the investigation.[3]
