The Aethonan was a breed of winged horse. They were chestnut in colour and popular in Great Britain and Ireland.[1]
Etymology[]
Its name is probably derived from Aethon, one of the horses which pulled the chariot of Helios, the Titan of the Sun, in Greek myth.

- The description of Aethonans is the only one that corresponds to the appearance of the flying horses seen in the illustration for the Lord Stoddard Withers Chocolate Frog Card that accompanies the Chocolate Frogs sold by Jelly Belly Candy Company. This is also in accordance with the abundance of Aethonans in Great Britain and Ireland, where it is implied Lord Stoddard Withers hails from.
