- "His fame was not won by vanquishing foes in single combat, nor by slaying bloodthirsty dragons, but rather in training yards and sculleries — where his warm and approachable demeanour was celebrated by old friends and newcomers alike."
- — Professor Binns[src]
Sir Affpuddle of the Cheerful Countenance was a wizard and a friendly knight who won every battle before it was fought through his amiable negotiating tactics.
He was regarded as "the friendliest knight", and had a statue built in the Bell Towers at Hogwarts Castle in his honour, which would wave at those who approached. Some attributed his success to Cheering Charms.[1]
Biography[]
Sir Affpuddle's kindness was his undoing as he died instantly while attempting to befriend a basilisk.[1] He was so universally well-liked that even some goblins mourned his passing — which did not go well with the rest of the goblins, most of whom could not abide mourning the loss of a wizard.[1]
Magical abilities and skills[]
- Charms: Sir Affpuddle was said to be skilled with Cheering Charms, the reason he was so cheerful.[1]
