- "You see Miss Starling, in my many years at Hogwarts, I've developed a few new skills of my own. Take, for example, the humble spell Aguamenti. In its usual form, it is essentially harmless, but if one were to augment it for more power, it becomes quite a formidable offense move!"
- — Filius Flitwick to Evelyn Starling[src]
Aguamenti Maxima was a variation of the Water-Making Spell. It conjured a powerful jet of water from the tip of the caster's wand.[1]
History[]
This modified spell was created by Hogwarts Professor and duelling champion Filius Flitwick prior to the 1986–1987 school year. It was considered to be magic beyond the curriculum of Hogwarts. It was possibly used by Flitwick during the 1986-1987 Toothill Duelling Club Invitational Tournament to defeat Evelyn Starling.[1]

Etymology[]
The incantation is derived from the incantation for its predecessor, "Aguamenti", and the Latin word "maxima", which means "very great" or "greatest".
Behind the scenes[]
- In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Jacob's sibling has the option to tell Professor Filius Flitwick to use an offensive move against Evelyn Starling in the final round of the Toothill Duelling Club Invitational Tournament. Professor Flitwick will then use Aguamenti Maxima on Evelyn in response to their suggestion to win the tournament. Jacob's sibling will later ask Flitwick if he could teach them the spell, to which Flitwick will claim that the spell is beyond the curriculum of Hogwarts but that he would be willing to discuss teaching them the spell after they had graduated.[1]
