Al was an Alihotsy plant that belonged to Nymphadora Tonks.[1]
History[]
As preparation for the 1990–1991 school year Herbology Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test, Pomona Sprout tasked her seventh year class with looking after an Alihotsy plant. Nymphadora Tonks decided to place her Alihosty plant, which she nicknamed Al, in a grove within the Forbidden Forest to make sure it was protected. However, whilst there, it was partially eaten by a Red Cap. Tonks believed that this would cause her to fail her N.E.W.T, and thus she wouldn't be able to realise her ambition to become an Auror. In desperation, she asked Jacob's sibling and Talbott Winger for help, and they realised that Professor Sprout hadn't ever expressly forbidden the use of the Herbivicus Charm, which they then cast on Al to rejuvenate it. When Tonks turned it in, Professor Sprout was able to identify the use of the Herbivicus Charm, but passed Tonks anyway, stating that she was right in thinking she hadn't expressly forbidden use of the charm.[1]
