These files were the records that the Auror Alastor Moody made of every time he had gone to visit Azkaban. They included the date and time of his visits, as well as who he was meeting and for what purpose. During the 1990–1991 school year, he let Jacob's sibling and Merula Snyde look through the files as part of their Azkaban Orientation training.[1]
