Albert Sallow was a British wizard who worked at the British Ministry of Magic in the 2010s in the capacity of Unspeakable.

Biography

Albert Sallow was approached by Gareth Greengrass with a recommendation that Grim Fawley be promoted from his position in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to a position as an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries. Sallow was initially hesitant to accept Grim's promotion, asserting that he was too young and green, and he was lacking in passion. However, he eventually agreed to Grim's appointment to Unspeakable. After Grim's first year as an Unspeakable, Sallow wrote a year end evaluation for him in which he claimed that, despite his personal misgivings about Grim's commitment to the position, Grim had surpassed all of his expectations during his trial period.

At some point in his career, he entered the Love Chamber in the Department of Mysteries. The log documenting the time of his entry and exit was brought to light during the investigation over the Calamity, as it also showed Grim Fawley was frequently in the room at odd times.

At some point during at least the 2010s, Sallow took members of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force on an informal tour of the Department of Mysteries. While on the tour, he taught the task force members about many of the mysterious artefacts kept within the department. Sallow later delivered a mandatory Ministry seminar called Puzzles and Other Conundrums, which was attended by a Calamity Investigator working for the task force. Although the investigator found the material uninspired, they did gain a new perspective on fragments as puzzle pieces.

Sallow later asked the same Calamity Investigator to host a successful demonstration on combat in Fortresses after he and other Ministry leaders became impressed by the investigator's keen eye and determination. He also asked the same Calamity Investigator to audit the usage log from the Love Chamber, with the investigator gaining a better understanding of love after feeling a strange affection towards several people they interviewed. Sallow also ran into the same Calamity Investigator in a crowded Diagon Alley and covertly slipped them a memo on charms and incantations he had previously written. Although the document was highly redacted, the investigator found what was visible useful, if a little dangerous, using it to enable them to cast the Greenhouse Charm more times in quick succession.
