This charm (incantation unknown) was placed on the Mirror of Erised by Albus Dumbledore during the 1991–1992 school year to protect the Philosopher's Stone.[1]
Effects
The charm bewitched the Mirror to hold the Philosopher's Stone, where the only one who could retrieve it from the Mirror would be one who wanted to find the stone but not use it or have it used.[1]
History
In the Underground Chambers, the spell prevented Quirinus Quirrell from stealing the stone for his master Lord Voldemort on the 4 June 1992, which violently angered the Dark Lord who was currently possessing him. The spell however, allowed the stone to materialise in Harry Potter's pocket, as he did not intend to utilise the stone's power for dark purposes, unlike Quirrell/Voldemort.[1]
