The All-England Best-Kept Suburban Lawn competition was a fictitious competition created by Nymphadora Tonks. In the summer of 1995, Vernon Dursley received a letter telling him he was a finalist for the All-England Best-Kept Lawn competition. This was actually a clever ruse to get the Dursleys out of the house so that the Advance Guard could come and take Harry Potter safely to 12 Grimmauld Place.[1]
Harry amused himself by imagining Vernon's displeased reaction once he realised that there was no such competition.[1]
