There was an unidentified alleyway in London during the late 19th century. It was lined with buildings, primarily townhouses and bars, and covered in thin smoke in some areas. A view of Big Ben could be seen from the alley.[1]
History[]
In 1890, a fifteen-year-old wizard received their late acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, sent by Deputy Headmistress Matilda Weasley, in this alley.[2] On the night of 31 August that year, Professor Eleazar Fig and the fifteen-year-old wizard were preparing to leave for Hogwarts in a carriage when George Osric Apparated into the alley. The three of them departed the alley together in the carriage, with no one witnessing Victor Rookwood, the Dark wizard who was spying on them.[1]
