The Anti-Terrorism Unit was, presumably, a branch of the Metropolitan Police designated for combating terrorism threats. The unit was headquartered in Westminster.
History[]
They were among the Muggles investigating the collapse of the Millennium Bridge in 1996. One member of the unit, Oliver Wiseman, spoke to The Guardian about their investigation, though he refused to acknowledge questions on any of the theories regarding how the bridge could have been destroyed by explosion when no visible charges were present either before or during the attack.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- During the filming of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Metropolitan Police Service's counter-terrorism unit was Counter Terroism Command, which was founded in 2006. In 1996, the Metropolitan Police had two such units, the Anti-Terrorism Branch and its Special Branch, which merged to form CTC.
