- "Healer Smethwyck worked his magic in the end, found an antidote to whatever that snake's got in its fangs..."
- — Molly Weasley[src]
This antidote was used to counteract Nagini's venom.[1]
History[]
After the British Ministry of Magic employee Arthur Weasley was attacked by Lord Voldemort's snake Nagini in December 1995 in the Department of Mysteries, he was instantly sent to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. The venom in Nagini's fangs was highly poisonous and needed to be cured to prevent Arthur's death. At some point during Arthur's stay, Healer Hippocrates Smethwyck successfully found the antidote, which healed Arthur Weasley's wounds and allowed him to return home.[1]
