The mother of Apolline Delacour was a French Veela. Her daughter, a half-Veela, married Monsieur Delacour, a wizard, and had two daughters; Fleur and Gabrielle. When it came time for Fleur to have her first wand, she donated one of her hairs to serve as its core.[2]
