Aviatus is the incantation of a charm that forces a target to fly if it is able to.^[1]

Etymology

"Aviatus" is derived from the Latin word "avis" which means "bird." "Avis" eventually evolved into the English word "aviation," which means flight.

Behind the scenes

In early drafts of the eighth film, Hermione Granger used this spell to get the dragon to fly^[1].
