Bagpipes are traditional wind instruments, commonly associated with Scottish culture, that produce sound by forcing air through reeds via a bag that is inflated by the player.[6]
History[]
Gideon Crumb played bagpipes for the popular wizarding band The Weird Sisters.[2][3][4][5]
Robert McGonagall Senior owned a set of bagpipes. As an infant, his daughter Minerva would make the pipes play on their own for her own amusement in an impressive display of underage magic.[1]
In 1996, Harry Potter had a dream about Minerva McGonagall playing the bagpipes in the Room of Requirement while Neville Longbottom did a waltz with Pomona Sprout.[7]
