This Hebridean Black served as the mascot for the Banchory Bangers Quidditch team by at most the 2008–2009 school year.[1]
Biography[]
After a match against the Appleby Arrows in 1814, the Bangers allowed their Bludgers to zoom off into the night, and set out to capture a Hebridean Black to be their mascot. It was possible that this dragon was the same one that was the team mascot in the 2000s.[2]
During the 2008–2009 school year, a group of professional Quidditch players from the Banchory Bangers brought this Hebridean Black to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry along with a group of players and mascots from other teams, although this dragon was forced to be kept within the Forbidden Forest due to its aggressive nature. Rubeus Hagrid was intending to observe this dragon in the forest before running into a Muggle-born student.[1]
After Hagrid and the student discovered that some broomsticks that would be used in an upcoming student race were infested with Chizpurfles, the student raced to the Quidditch pitch to try to prevent their friends from flying on the Chizpurfle-infested brooms. They managed to get to Daniel Page, Ivy Warrington, and Kevin Farrell to warn them in time, but Robyn Thistlethwaite had already taken her broom for a test flight. In order to find her quickly, the student used their Golden Snitch to attract the ghost Seeker Willa Weholt to the pitch, explaining the situation to her. Willa agreed to help look for Robyn while the student collected a broom they had previously been using, as they had kept it separate from the other brooms and thus it was unlikely to have been infested. The student and Willa managed to find Robyn, but her erratic flying had accidentally riled up this dragon, leading to the student having to fight it off, enabling them, Robyn, and Willa to escape from it.[1]
