Bandon is a town in County Cork, Ireland.[1]
In the mid-1990s, Bandon was threatened by a banshee known as the Bandon Banshee.[2] The city was saved by a witch with a hairy chin. However, this witch was later tracked down by Gilderoy Lockhart and, after telling him the exact details of her story, had her memories wiped with the Memory Charm. Lockhart would later publish details of this account, rewritten to be his own accomplishments instead, as part of his book Break with a Banshee.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- There are several locations named Bandon in the world, including one in Ireland, where banshees are native to. However, the Mainland Chinese version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (哈利･波特与密室) identifies it as the one in Thailand in its footnotes, which might be an error.
