- "My dad always said he was going to get me some brains for my birthday."
- — Barnaby Lee[src]
Barnaby Lee's father was a Dark wizard who was a Death Eater during the First Wizarding War.[4]
Biography[]
He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in his youth, where he was sorted into Slytherin.[3] He once owned a pet Kneazle, which Lord Voldemort drowned.[5] One time, he and his son were exterminating Pixies at their house, and he yelled at Barnaby for crying.[6] Mr Lee also always used to say he ought to get his son some brains for his birthday, clearly showing him as a rather cruel and abusive father.[7]
On one night before Barnaby started attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Cecil Lee took Barnaby, his father, his mother and his grandmother on a camping trip where he made a roaring campfire and served them some of his famous cocoa, complete with his pet Fire Dwelling Salamander Vulcan performing the cocoa-warming trick. Barnaby later recalled that everyone loved seeing the trick, even his parents, claiming that the moment was one of the only happy memories he had of them.[8]
He was sentenced to Azkaban following the war for his crimes as a Death Eater, along with his wife.[9]
Mr Lee was also acquainted with Horace Slughorn.[10]
